Salsa accompaniment – “Un poquito cantas”
Contents: A two-part salsa accompaniment consisting of D minor and A7 chords is introduced. The chords are varied rhythmically and played with offbeats.
Exercise: The chords are first practiced as whole notes and then varied rhythmically. The offbeats and rhythmic accents are deepened by tapping and playing the accompaniment.
Aim: Ability to play rhythmic accompaniments in salsa style fluently and precisely and to develop a feeling for Latin American rhythms.
